Hi, I'm Allan.
I am an urbanist and environmentalist specializing in developing data-driven decision-making tools and communicating them effectively to stakeholders and the public. In 2017 I graduated from UC Berkeley's Master of City Planning program with a focus on environmental planning for healthy cities.
I am committed to rethinking our relationship with the natural environment. I see addressing climate change as an opportunity to increase efficiency, sustainability, and social equity in our cities rather than just an inconvenient necessity.
I am excited about the potential for web mapping, data visualizations, and other interactive media to revolutionize the way planners and designers communicate analyses, scenarios, and trade-offs to the public.
I have experience working for design firms as well as in governments throughout the Bay Area. I have made significant contributions to resilience plans, comprehensive plans, and open space plans.
In the last year I designed an app, built multiple interactive web map platforms, and am currently managing a regional landscape conservation planning study. I enjoy fast-paced, highly collaborative work environments, and relish taking on unique projects and learning new skills.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, making music, waterskiing, snowboarding, backpacking, SCUBA diving, and watching every documentary I can get my hands on.
